Youth Information and Counselling Services
Youth Information and Counselling Service guides and advises young people on questions related to their life in a professional manner, impartially, without appointment and free of charge. Service is targeted for all young people of Oulu under 30 years of age, their parents and other people close to them as well as those who work with young people.
For the time being, the NettiNappi web service is produced only in Finnish, but on site, over the phone and by email you can get guidance and advice also in English.
Youth Information and Counselling Service is part of the Byström Guidance Center. The employees are responsible for the customer service at the Byström Guidance Center and if necessary, they can direct young persons to meet other professionals working in the center.
Youth Information and Counselling Service provides brochures, magazines and several computers for searching for information independently. You can scan, print and copy materials free of charge. You can also find the Byström branch of the Oulu City Library where you can borrow materials about the life of young people with your library card.
The questions young people ask are not always simple, because they often concern the whole situation and circumstances of the young person. Sometimes it is difficult for the young person to identify what kind of information he or she is seeking. The services are personalized and confidential and they are always based on the needs and wishes of the customer.
The Youth Information and Counselling Service provides information about hobbies, events, studies, health services, travelling, working and studying abroad, housing, employment, rights and many other things!
We are there for you when your own answers are not enough!
